Prof. Liu was a distinguished professor at the School of Transportation and Logistics of Southwest Jiaotong University. Recently, he won the National Natural Science Foundation of China general project "Research on Optimization Methods of Mining Production Scheduling" as the host, and participated in many national natural science and social science projects. At present, he has published more than 90 academic papers, including more than 50 papers included in SCI, most of which are first-author papers and published in many international authoritative journals in the field of operations research and management, including Transportation Science. From 2009 to 2011, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Queensland University of Technology, focusing on the optimization software for railway scheduling in Queensland, Australia and the scheduling decision system for the supply chain of Queensland coal mines. From 2011 to 2016, he served as a senior researcher and chief researcher at the CRC ORE, which combines industry, academia and research, and mainly studied two national scientific research projects jointly conducted by the CRC ORE and BHPB (the world's largest mining company): "Development of advanced mining scheduling methods" and "Comprehensive decision optimization and risk assessment of mining projects".
